About: In 1927, over 400 workers began a fourteen year project that would become one of our greatest national monuments. Gutzon Borglum created the sculpture in order to honor four of our greatest presidents. Each head on Mount Rushmore stands as tall as a six story building!
Attractions: The Crazy Horse Monument is very close to Mount Rushmore. Furthermore when Crazy Horse is finished it will be the world's largest mountain carving. Impressive as this is, maybe more impressive is the large amount of campsites in this region of South Dakota.
